The Association is governed by an Executive Council elected by its members. The Executive Council is comprised of the President, Vice President, General Secretary, Treasurer, and three Council Members.
The day-to-day operations of the Association are managed by the President, supported by an Executive Officer. This leadership structure ensures that the Association functions effectively and remains responsive to the needs and priorities of its members.
FFIA’s activities are funded through annual membership subscriptions, which sustain the Association’s advocacy, representation, and development efforts on behalf of Fiji’s longline tuna fishing industry.
The Executive Council is elected by the membership through a formal voting process. Each elected official, including the President, Vice President, General Secretary, Treasurer, and Committee Members, serves a term of three years, with eligibility for re-election.

This structured tenure ensures both continuity and accountability in leadership, while also providing opportunities for fresh perspectives to contribute to the advancement of the association’s goals. The Executive Council is entrusted with strategic oversight, policy direction, and representing the collective interests of FFIA’s members at national, regional and international forums.
